Lush Launches Mood-Enhancing Makeup By Katalina Mitchell
Lush Cosmetics has announced the launch of their first cosmetic line, out July 21st. “Emotional Brilliance” will feature lipsticks, liners, and shadows with colors to match specific moods, such as “confident” or “glamorous.” Lush says the idea behind the vegan-friendly collection is “less about wearing make-up and more about wearing colors that shape your mood.” 
Undecided on which to choose? Lush created a game that customers can play either online or in stores to find out which color will benefit your mood.

      Following the recent hype over his highly anticipated new fragrance, “Dot,” which will hit stores this summer, Marc Jacobs made an exciting announcement. The designer has teamed up with Sephora to launch his first cosmetic line.
     ” I see makeup, fragrance - everything really - as an opportunity. The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner - it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy.”
     It is yet to be determined whether the line will take cues from his Marc by Marc brand with vibrant, youthful pigments or feature muted color palettes, mirroring his minimalistic mainline. “We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they’ll say, what makes them distinctive.”

     Vera Wang has long been a top designer for bridal couture, everyday wear, and red carpet gowns, as well as several very successful perfume campaigns. Most recently, Vera created a line of affordable clothing and sandals for Kohl’s, but she isn’t stopping there with the chain. Vera Wang is currently introducing a line of cosmetics for Kohl’s, marking the brand’s first makeup samples.
     This line is set to launch in April, and the brand has paired up with the creator of Estee Lauder cosmetics, Beauty Bank. The launch will contain 74 different pieces, varying from foundation to lipstick. The cosmetics start from $16.50 and range all the way to $39.50. These items will be available both online and in Kohl’s stores all over the nation.
     Some product highlights include an eyelash enhancing serum, illuminating concealer, and skin balms. Vera Wang is a long-standing force in the fashion and perfume industries, and her cosmetics debut will only further her reputation as someone on top. Bring on the fresh shades and illuminators!

     Betsey Johnson expands her empire from fashion and perfume to nails! The polishes are reflective of Betsey’s fresh clothing designs and patterns, and the collection is only in stores for a limited time. Check it out!

UPDATE: Due to financial and bankruptcy issues, Betsey Johnson is currently going out of business. The company is closing their free standing retail shops, as well as discontinuing their clothing, shoe, jewelry, and beauty lines. It has not been announced if her nail polish line for Sephora is going to continue into retail shops, but fingers are crossed that they will be able to be coated with the funky designs and polish that was debuted just a short while ago. Betsey Johnson will continue to produce a lower priced line for Macy’s department stores. It is a sad day for the fashion and beauty industry, but we wish Betsey all the luck and success she deserves. Her designs will continue to be worn with pride and spunk, just as she always intended.
